Government Shutdown Averted As 2012 Funding Bill Advances

After a week of political maneuvering, House and Senate leaders finally agreed to vote  on a massive 2012 appropriations bill to fund the nine remaining federal agencies. A House vote is expected today, with a Senate vote to follow over the weekend.  A temporary, stopgap funding resolution will allow time for the bill to be signed into law.   Following are links to a detailed summary of the spending bill and the complete text of H.R. 3671, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012 :
